Programs for June Club Meetings
June 1 Judging of the PSA Best of the Best Competition presented by Charlie Burke.
Each year, PSA’s
Color Projected Image Division conducts a series of interclub competitions. Approximately
90 clubs, both US and International, participate. The clubs are organized into
4 Groups. Each starts in Group D and can work its way to Group A by having one
of the highest scores during the course of 4 competitions that are held throughout the year.
At the end of each year, a Best
of the Best Competition is conducted and includes all the images that earned an Award of Merit. During the first round, the images will be scored on a group-by-group basis. The second round will include only the top images from each group.
From those images, a Best of the Best image will be chosen.
June 15 Banquet Night
and Award Presentations. Sue and Tom Abrahamsen will present a program "Africa in Three Parts".
This program is a selection
of images made on two visits to Africa. The three parts reflect major highlights of the terrain of sub-Sahara Africa:
-
the desert and west coast
of Nambia
-
the wetlands of the Okavango
river delta where it meets the Kalahari Desert and the areas near the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls.
-
the savanna of the Serengeti
plain, a safari starting at Arusha, Tanzania.
Music is by the Mascato youth
choir, Nambia.
